THE STRUCTURE

Ú Carvutt - The Crab′s Home is much more than a holiday home, it′s the ideal refuge for those seeking a unique experience on the beautiful coast of Polignano a Mare. A place where comfort merges with the charm of these places, managed with passion and the desire to share with Italian and foreign tourists the beauties of the territory. It′s not just about the beaches, some of the most beautiful in Puglia, but also the cities of art and the characteristic farms scattered in the area, where you can enjoy local specialties, from wines to taralli and then focaccia, dairy products, cured meats, and the famous orecchiette, the pasta that has made the region famous all over the world.

THE LOCATION

This nest, on the cliff of Polignano, was bought by Stanislao L′Abbate, a true Polignanesi, back in 1974. The house consisted of a huge fireplace where an old lady, "Maria of the salty water", used to boil hectoliters of seawater to derive smuggled salt.
The space has been completely renovated and organized somewhat like a boat, as Stanislao was a sailor. Hence, its name "U Carvutt" which in dialect indicates the small hole in the rock where the crab lives. A unique and special place, with a welcoming and convivial atmosphere, which was very loved by travelers who awarded it with a 5 star rating on Airb&b and PayTourist since 2018.

OUR HOUSE

The house is located in the old country, perched over the sea of Polignano and overlooks the most famous fjord, known as Grotta Palazzese.
It is equipped to be lived in all year round, having both heating and air conditioning, a very comfortable double bed plus a pull-out bed for a possible third guest, a large wardrobe, a comfortable bathroom equipped with everything you need and a spacious shower. Also available for guests is a small kitchen complete with an induction plate, an electric oven, a refrigerator and a dishwasher.
The apartment is equipped with Wi-Fi and television, and being by the sea, it is very breezy both in summer and winter. On the livable balcony, one of the very few in the area, you can have lunch or read lulled by the sound of the sea and enjoy a breathtaking view.
Just steps away from the apartment, you can find Polignano′s most famous restaurants, many local craft shops and all sorts of services.
